Hi! I’m Jewell Melisa Morton.
I’m a Filipino designer that grew up in a military family that was lucky enough to live in Japan and then travel around the US growing up. There was always a stream of Japanese, Filipino, Italia, and American culture and influence thrown my way which I try to implement in my personal and professional life. Although, I admit, I’m still trying to figure out where I fit in or how they fit into my life (besides food).
I am a dedicated, vocal, and meticulous designer with a commitment to humanistic design. I believe in honoring history and creating designs that resonate with target audiences needs and values; in doing so, I will often change my style to best suit my audience. In addition, I believe in advocating for the team: let creatives be creatives and allow them a work life balance. I’m a team player who loves to collaborate with others in order to solve a problem in a holistic manner to reach our team’s goals within deadlines.
I excel in creating work that involves community and strong typography. I enjoy pushing and testing boundaries from conceptualization to final execution while still meeting deadlines (if not a bit earlier than the original deadline).
If I’m not doing anything work related, you can catch me playing video games, hanging with friends or family so we can watch some movie, or something to do with food (like making cookies!).
I am currently looking to work with likeminded people where I can offer my personal insight on campaigns. I’m willing to relocate for a full time position, although hybrid or remote is preferred as I am more than happy to adjust my schedule (including sleep) to accommodate a job’s requirements.
